The food pantry operates out of the dedicated red outbuilding in the rear parking lot with a wooden ADA-accessible ramp (not the church sanctuary). Operating hours are Monday through Thursday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM, with Friday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM reserved for emergency food assistance and bread/pastry distribution.

What paperwork or ID is required to get food at QVCC?

Accepted Answer

Quinsigamond Village Community Center operates an unconditional, zero-barrier food pantry aligned with USDA TEFAP standards. You do NOT need proof of income, referral letters, or citizenship documentation. While photo ID or utility mail is helpful for city demographic grants, missing documentation will never result in anyone being turned away. Every family and neighbor in need is served with warmth and dignity.

How can I donate food, diapers, or groceries to QVCC?

Food and supply donations are gratefully received Monday through Thursday between 9:30 AM and 2:30 PM at the rear pantry ramp at 200 Greenwood Street, Worcester MA. High-priority items include canned tuna, canned chicken, peanut butter, low-sodium soups, canned vegetables, pasta, rice, dry beans, baby wipes, and diapers (especially sizes 4, 5, 6, and pull-ups). All items must be unexpired and factory-sealed. We cannot accept opened food, expired items, dented cans, or home-canned products.

Does QVCC provide delivery for homebound seniors or disabled individuals?

Accepted Answer

Yes. In partnership with the Worcester Housing Authority (WHA), QVCC operates monthly doorstep grocery delivery directly to mobility-impaired, disabled, and senior residents at 'A Place to Live' (38 Lewis Street) and surrounding South Worcester neighborhoods. Yes. Quinsigamond Village Community Center operates in partnership with Friendly House, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity (IRS EIN: 04-2104239, Est. 1920). Contributions are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. QVCC qualifies for corporate matching gifts through portals like Benevity and CyberGrants, with regional employers including Hanover Insurance, Polar Beverages, Fallon Health, AbbVie, and Unum. We also accept Donor-Advised Funds (DAF Direct) and IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD).

Because of QVCC's membership with the Worcester County Food Bank and wholesale food recovery partners, every $1 donated provides $4 worth of fresh, nutritious groceries. A $25 monthly sustaining gift provides over 1,200 pounds of food annually to local families facing rising grocery costs.
